Corner of Charles & Gamon

now Charles & Gamon Bar & Kitchen

2 Gamon Street, Seddon

The corner of Charles and Gamon Street has sure gone through some changes before becoming the restaurant Charles & Gamon.

In the early 1960's the tram ran down Gamon and into Charles Street, and the corner housed a Golden Fleece service station. Later the spot became a commercial building - housing Geoff Brookes Steak Cave in the 1970s, Bery's Charcoal Grill (run by Bery Babic), and then the Bowser (drawing from it’s service station heritage) in the 1980s before becoming Sabrosos in the 1990s and C+G in the 2010s. It’s now the Charles & Gamon Bar & Kitchen and the beautiful decor and beer gardens have added a great vibe to the Village.
